The baby’s name was given to the paternal
grandmother, Srimathi Ghandikota Lakshmi Devi Subbarao, after darshan in Prashanthi Mandhir
at 8:30 AM IST, Saturday August 21 2004. She prayed to Swami, reciting the following prayer:
Anyathaa Sharanam Naasthi
Thvameva Sharanam Mama
Tasmaat Kaarunya Bhaavena
Raksha Raksha Saayeeshvara
There is no other source of salvation,
You are our sole refuge,
The ever compassionate One,
Please protect and save us.
She prayed for Swami to name the baby. Swami expressed His joy and blessed the baby and parents. A short time later He sent word giving the name, Sai Chiranjeevi.
